Katie Hoyt published a review, Adapting isotopic tracer and metabolic flux analysis approaches to study C1 metabolism in Current Opinion in Biotechnology, which is her first publication in the Woolston lab. This review talked about a well-established platform, 13C Metabolic flux analysis (MFA), for interrogating the understanding of the organization, regulation and rates of the reactions that underpin Single-carbon (C1, or one-carbon) substrate metabolism. As her words in the paper, “Here we review recent studies that have developed isotopic tracer approaches to overcome the challenge of uniform metabolite labeling and provide quantitative insight into C1 metabolism.”
